This tutorial will guide you through installing Microsoft Power BI Desktop for Windows. Eligible Business Intelligence students are provided Power BI as part of the Project LaunchBox. This is to be used in the Foundations of Business Intelligence course.
Are you running Windows? The Microsoft Power BI Desktop app is designed for Windows, so please make sure you are working in the Windows operating system. If you are on a MacBook Pro, you must first install Windows onto your Mac using this guide, then boot your machine to Windows by holding the Option key at startup.
Step 1. Click on the following link to access the Power BI website: https://app.powerbi.com/groups/me/groupWelcome
Step 2. Choose the SIGN IN option, then sign in using your Full Sail email address.
If you encounter an error message like this one,

Step 3. After you have successfully signed into Power BI, look in the upper-right corner, click the download icon, then select "Power BI Desktop."
Step 4. Check your Downloads for a PBIDesktop_x64.msi file and double-click on it.
Step 5. Follow the onscreen installation prompts.
Step 6. Click "Finish" to complete installation.
Step 7. The first time Power BI launches, click "Already have a Power BI account? Sign in."
Step 8. Sign in using your Full Sail email address (email@example.com format).
Step 9. After signing in, you will be able to use the Power BI Desktop application. (Note: You can still use the Power BI website on any supported web browser.)
