VMWare Fusion - Installation

This guide will walk you through installing Windows 10 onto your MacBook Pro using VMWare Fusion. Use this guide if you have not yet received a Windows 10 Product Key. You will be able to use Windows 10 in Trial Mode to complete your coursework until your Product Key is available.  

This tutorial is divided into 3 parts:

Part 1: OnTheHub  

Step 1. Please visit https://fullsail.onthehub.com and click Register.

(If you have used OnTheHub in the past, click "Sign In" to log into your account, then skip to Step 5.)

Step 2. Enter your @student.fullsail.edu email address, then click Continue.

Step 3. Enter all of your information as shown below, then click Register.

Step 4. Check your Full Sail email inbox for an email address confirmation, then click the link in that email to verify your account.

Step 5. After you have verified and signed into your OnTheHub account, click the VMWare tab to locate VMWare Fusion 11.

Step 6. Click Add to Cart then click Check Out.

Step 7. Your VMWare Serial Number will appear in red text. Copy or save it for your records. You will need it later!

Step 8. After you have saved your VMWare Serial Number, click Download.

The VMWare-Fusion installer file will download, but do not open it yet.

Part 2: Windows .ISO File 

Step 1. CLICK HERE to download the Windows installation (.iso) file.

Step 2. Sign in using your @student.fullsail.edu email address.

Step 3.  Click Download to begin downloading your Windows .iso file.

Note: The Windows 10 installer file will download, but do not open it yet.

 


 

Part 3: VMWare Installation 

Step 1. Locate and double-click on the VMWare-Fusion installer file from your Downloads.

Step 2. A pop-up window will appear. Double-click the colored icon to begin.

Step 3. If you see a security warning like this one, click Open. You may be prompted for your computer's administrator password.

Step 4. If you receive a "System Extension Blocked" error, Open Security Preferences and click Allow.

You should now be able to proceed with installation.

 

Step 5. Review the Terms & Conditions, then click Agree to continue.

Step 6. Enter your VMWare Fusion Serial Number from Part 1 of this tutorial (not your Windows Product Key).

If you cannot find your VMWare Serial Number, click here and select "View Details".

Step 7. Click Done to continue.

Important Note: You must install all VMWare software updates before you can proceed.

If you see a Software Update window pop-up, click Download and Install, then follow the installation prompts.

Step 8. Once you reach this screen, drag your Windows Installation (.iso) file from your Downloads folder and drop it anywhere on the VMWare window as shown below:

Step 9.  Click Continue.

Step 10. Uncheck "Use Easy Install" (you must uncheck this box).

Leave everything blank; do not enter any information, then click Continue.

Step 11. Select Legacy BIOS as the boot firmware, then click Continue.

Step 12. Click Finish to continue.

Step 13. Click Save to continue.

Step 14. Allow a couple of moments for Windows installation to begin.

Step 15. Follow the onscreen prompts to install Windows. When you reach this screen, click "I don't have a Product Key".

Step 16. Select Windows 10 Pro Eduction from the list.

Step 17. Accept the license terms and click Next.

Step 18. Select Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)

Step 19. Select Drive 0 and click Next.

Follow the rest of the installation prompts until you reach your Windows Desktop.

 


 

• You will be able to use Windows 10 in Trial Mode until you receive your Product Key.

• Check with your instructor and/or Technical Support for more information on when your Product Key will become available.
