FSO - Submission or Upload Error

When you upload or submit your file, you encounter one of the following errors or the upload fails please try the following troubleshooting steps.

Troubleshooting Steps:

Step 1. Make sure your file is named correctly and does not include any spaces or special characters (&*.#) excluding underscores and the period in the file extension (.pdf).
Step 2. Make sure your file is under 500 MB and that it is on the list of supported file types. You can check your file size and extension by right clicking on the file and selecting “Get Info.”
Step 3. Sign out and sign back in before trying to upload your file again.
Step 4. Perform a browser reset.
Step 5. Try signing in with an alternate browser, such as Firefox or Chrome.
Step 6. Make sure that the upload does not take longer than 30 minutes. If the upload takes longer than 30 minutes, you will be automatically logged out and your file will not be uploaded.
Step 7. If the file takes longer than usual to upload, check your internet connection speed. Make sure you have a minimum upload speed of 1 Mbps. If your upload speed is too slow, you may need to try connecting with an ethernet cable, accessing a different network, or contacting your internet service provider.

Step 8. If the issue persists, please reach out to FSO Support for further assistance. Please make sure to provide screenshots, details about the error, and troubleshooting steps you have taken to correct the issue.

When trying to upload a file for submission, you receive an error, “Error - File is too big.”

Step 1. This error generally happens because you are over the 500 MB size limit. You can try to make the file smaller by lowering the quality or compressing the file.
Step 2. If you are able to lower the size to under 500 MB, log out and log back in before uploading your new file. 
Step 3. If you are unable to bring the size down below 500 MB, please reach out to your instructor to inquire about alternate submission methods.
