You can take a screenshot on your MacBook Pro using keyboard shortcuts. The screenshot will automatically be saved as a .png file to your desktop.You can take a screenshot of your entire screen, a selection of the screen, or a single window. For Windows users, click here.
Entire Screen:
Step 1. Hold down Command+Shift+3 on your keyboard.
Step 2. The screenshot will automatically be saved as a png file to your desktop.
Selection:
Step 1. Hold down Command, Shift, and 4 on your keyboard.
Step 2. Your cursor will become a crosshairs icon. Using your mouse, click and drag to draw a box around whatever image you want to save.
Step 3. When you release, the screenshot will automatically be saved as a png file to your desktop.
Window Selection:
Step 1. Hold down Command, Shift, 4, and the Spacebar on your keyboard.
Step 2. Your cursor will become a camera icon. When you mouse over different windows, the entire window will turn blue.
Step 3. When the desired window is highlighted blue, click once with your mouse/trackpad. The screenshot will automatically be saved as a .png file to your desktop.
