This tutorial will show you how to reset your password, find your username, and change your username for your Apple ID.
Step 1. Visit http://iforgot.apple.com and enter your Apple ID when prompted. If you do not know your Apple ID please see the second section of this article.
Step 2. Select the authentication method you prefer. The email method will send an email to the account on file that includes a link. Clicking on the link will take you to a page to reset your password. The other method will present 2 security questions that you would have selected when you first set up the Apple ID. Answer these 2 questions and you will access the password reset screen.
Step 3. If prompted, enter your birth-date
Step 4. Once you reach the new password screen, simply enter the password once in the upper field and again (exactly) in the lower field. The password is required to have the following:
- At least 1 letter
- At least 1 capital letter
- At least 1 number
- Not be the same as the account name
- Be at least 8 characters
- Not contain more than 3 consecutive identical characters
Step 1. Visit http://appleid.apple.com and select the link that is titled "Find your Apple ID"
Step 2. Fill out the form. At this point, if you have multiple email address that you want to test, it is best to enter one of them and proceed rather than all of them at once. This way you can determine which email addresses are associated with Apple ID's by process of elimination.
Step 3. If one of the email addresses is associated with an Apple ID you will be taken to the authentication selection screen. At this point refer back to step 2 of the password reset instructions above if you wish to continue forward and change your password.
Step 1. Visit http://appleid.apple.com and select "Manage your Apple ID"
Step 2. Enter your credentials
Step 3. Select the edit button next to "Apple ID and Primary Email Address"
Step 4. Enter your new Apple ID and save the changes
