How can I uninstall applications on my Mac?
There isn't really a native uninstaller on Mac like you see built into the Windows OS, so we recommend using a third party uninstaller app, such as AppCleaner. Download AppCleaner for free by clicking here.
How does it work?
This app allows you to simply drag and drop the icon for the app you want to uninstall, into a little box. It will then locate and display any and all system files associated with that particular application and allow you to delete them all at once with a single click.
Why do I need an uninstaller application?
On the Mac you can usually take care of business by simply dragging the application to the trash, but that's not always the best idea. When you drag an application to the trash you are only deleting the primary application files, however, during the initial installation of that software several other smaller files are placed into very specific folders all over your computer. It can be really difficult locating them all manually and these files can pose a problem if you ever attempt to re-install the software again later.
