HOW TO COMPRESS A SINGLE FILE:
Step 1. On your desktop, locate the file that you want to compress.

Step 2. Hold your mouse directly on top of the file icon and right click. From the dropdown menu, select the “Compress” option. Note: If you are using a trackpad, you can right click by holding down the control key on your keyboard while you click.

Step 3. The compressed file will appear on your desktop as a .zip file with a ZIP icon.

Step 4. To uncompress the file, click on the .zip file, and your file will appear on your desktop. Note: compressing a file will not remove the original file from your desktop, so in this example, the new file automatically receives  a “2” at the end of the file name.

HOW TO COMPRESS MULTIPLE FILES:
Step 1. Locate your files on your desktop.

Step 2. Right click on a blank area of your desktop and select “New folder” from the drop down menu.

Step 3. Click and drag the two files into the folder.

Step 4. Right click on the folder and select “compress.”

Step 5. Your new compressed file will appear on your desktop as a .zip file with a ZIP icon.
